Gratitude is a pretty good strategy for fighting depression.
Even if you don't have much to be grateful for.
Gratitude "stops and stills the enemy" according to my pastor.
When your enemy is sorrow, anxiety or depression, a little stopping every now and then is nice.

Try this on for size:
"I'm thankful that I'm alive."
"I'm thankful for my last breath."
"I'm thankful for my most recent meal."
"I'm thankful for a certain person."

There is always something positive to focus on, even in the darkest times.
And, no, I didn't say it was easy.

Surviving depression is a choice.
I know.
I did it.
